The 2011 Izod IndyCar Series season is the 100th season of American open wheel motor racing. The season will consist of seventeen events over the course of a seven-month season. Its premier event was the 95th Indianapolis 500, run on Sunday, May 29. The events will take place in twelve states of the United States, as well as in Canada, Brazil, and Japan.
The Iowa Corn Indy 250 Presented by Pioneer is an IndyCar Series race held at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The first event was held in 2007.
Iowa Speedway is a 7/8-mile (1.4 km) paved oval motor racing track in Newton, Iowa, United States, approximately 30 miles (48 km) east of Des Moines. The track was designed with influence from Rusty Wallace and patterned after Richmond International Raceway, a short track where Wallace was very successful. It has over 25,000 permanent seats as well as a unique multi-tiered Recreational Vehicle viewing area along the backstretch.
Newton is a city in and the county seat of Jasper County, Iowa, United States[1]. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 15,579. It is the home of Maytag Dairy Farms and was formerly home to the Maytag Corporation's corporate headquarters until the Whirlpool Corporation acquired it in 2006. It is also the location of Iowa Speedway.
